 While listening to the Woke read aloud "it feels good to be yourself", the reader explains to us the way that children normally see people in the world. Without having an explanation to certain people who "look different" children normally are quick to make up their minds about them. The reader talks to us about how nonbinary, and cisgender, and transgender people show themselves to the world with a genuine explanation to them and how they conform. I think that this reading is definitely something that should be for older students, this seems to be an extremely young children's book. BUT publishing it and having it out there for students who are questioning themselves at an extremely early age is also very helpful for them to try and figure out who they truly are.
